In former times, when REIKA was located in the main living area in Hagen, working life began for young Joseph Strunk. In 1953, already 47 years after the company was founded, he started his company education as cutting machine operator and grinder at REIKA. He then worked in production for 47 years. 2000 was a very special year, not only because of the millennium change, but also the retirement for Joseph Strunk. Even today, the former machinist is closely connected with REIKA. During the 3-generation visit with his daughter and grandson, the 86-year-old was sharing memories. However, a lot has happened at REIKA during the last decades. Especially the new building with the Ring Saw shark in the foyer and the new modern factory hall excited him during the factory visit together with Managing Director Hans-Jörg Braun. The reunion with many of his former (young) colleagues was then the icing on the cake for Joseph Strunk. Happy faces were speaking for themselves, some of them with tears in their eyes. There was also a final souvenir photo, during these special times of course in compliance with the 3-G rule. The photo shows 530 years of REIKA. An unusually large number of longservice employees, which is not often found in companies today and an evidence of staff loyalty and motivation. Starting the working life in a company and staying until retirement used to be common in former times. In today's world, this appears to be almost impossible. The average length of service in one company in Germany is currently approximately 11 years. Therefore, we are really proud that the current average length of service at REIKA is 19 years. More than half of our employees have been with REIKA for about 30 years. Such a long employment period speaks for itself, showing REIKA’s qualities as an employer and continuous partner. This is also proven by many new hires recently. Many fresh and young team members who have "just started" at REIKA. And who knows, maybe one day they will also look back on many years with the company.
